Ryan Brumfield was 21 years old and a senior at West Virginia University when his life ended far too soon. He was preparing for medical school, carrying extraordinary promise and a future filled with possibilities. Although Ryan did not have all the years he deserved to fulfill his dreams, his life continues to create opportunities for others. The Ryan Brumfield Scholarship Fund ensures that his name, his potential, and his belief that “the sky is the limit” live on through every student we support.
HIS LEGACY LIVES THROUGH EDUCATION
The Ryan Brumfield Scholarship Fund invests in students who demonstrate determination, character, perseverance, and a sincere desire to build a brighter future. Scholarship recipients have pursued education and career preparation in nursing and healthcare, engineering, information technology, pharmacy technician training, and trade and technical schools.
Assistance has included tuition support, textbooks, educational supplies, and weekly stipends that help students manage living expenses while pursuing their goals. Every recipient represents another chapter in Ryan’s continuing story—a story of possibility, purpose, and the power of education to change a life.

A LETTER TO MY SON
Dear Ryan,
I became your mother when I was still a teenager. I was young, still finding my own way, and learning what life would require of me. Then you came into my life and gave me a purpose greater than myself.
In many ways, we grew up together.
I watched you become an intelligent, determined, and promising young man. At only 21 years old, you were already a senior at West Virginia University and preparing for the next chapter of your life—medical school. Your future held so much promise. You had dreams to pursue, lives to touch, and so much more to give this world.
Losing you is a pain that words will never fully explain. A mother is never prepared to say goodbye to her child, especially when his life is just beginning. I lost you far too soon, but I will never lose the love I carry for you.
That love has become service.
Through Global Touch Outreach, I serve children and students in communities around the world in your honor. Every backpack placed on a child’s shoulders, every book purchased, every tuition payment made, and every student encouraged to keep going carries a part of your legacy.
When the scholarship bearing your name helps someone attend trade school, study nursing, pursue engineering or information technology, complete pharmacy technician training, or simply meet basic expenses while working toward a better future, your light is present.
You were preparing for a life of healing and helping others. Today, your name continues that work by helping young people move closer to their own dreams.
Although you did not have the time you deserved to complete everything you began, your life was meaningful. Your story did not end when we lost you. It continues through every student who refuses to give up, every family given new hope, and every child reminded that their circumstances do not determine the limits of their future.
Serving these children is how I honor you. It is how I continue loving you. It is how I continue being your mother.
I miss you in every season and carry you into everything I do. I hope that every life touched in your name reflects the limitless potential I always saw in you.
